Meeting Support
At Perth Building Shelter we believe that one of the most important services we can provide is meeting support. For homeowners that find themselves having to go to meetings, not understand their position or the building process, these meetings can be overwhelming.
In some case this meeting may need to happen due to a dispute or conflict. Our aim is always to support, guide and advise the homeowner to attempt the best outcome and avoid costly litigation and Building commission where possible.
Knowing someone is by your side every step of the way can be the greatest comfort and assist you in articulating your grievances.

Discovery meeting to obtain an overview of the problems and if we can assist you in resolving them with your builder.

Meeting Prep
Meeting preparation is one of the key elements and can give a homeowner an enormous advantage. Meeting preparation helps
• Identify the main problems.
• Develop a preliminary agenda.
• Develop clear objectives.
• Identify who needs to attend
• Discuss what to expect.
• Strategies managing emotions during the meeting.

Attend Meeting
Perth building Shelter member will be right by your side before and during the meeting. Just prior to the meeting they will meet you, address any last-minute concerns and settle any nerves.
During the meeting they will take notes for you so that you can concentrate on the conversation. From experience our members know that these meeting can be overwhelming so one of their more important roles is to monitor the tone of the meeting and if need be ask for a break or ask questions that will put the meeting back on topic to achieve a positive outcome.

Debrief
After the meeting your meeting support person will debrief with you. This allows you and your support person to capitalize on meaningful learnings and key takeouts from the meeting.
24 hours after the meeting your meeting support person will type out notes and forward onto you to act upon.
